Friday, Jan. 21 @ Rhythm & Brews

posted by | January 20, 2011 | 2:58 pm

Hi folks!

It’s been a while! We played several private parties in December, including an off-the-hook wedding (see below), and our members have been spending some time playing with other groups, including Brooklyn soul outfit the Del-Reys, the Bad Mouth Betties, ’80s band Weird Science, Funkestra, Air Horns, Dave Stagno, and more. But the Bandulos funk machine keeps on groovin’.

Join us this Friday, Jan. 21 for our triumphant return to good ol’ Rhythm & Brews in Dongan Hills!

Here’s the Facebook event >>

Rhythm & Brews
1674 Richmond Rd
Staten Island, NY 10306
(718) 980-1897
10:30pm
[cover charge should be around $5 or $6]

We’ll be back at Big Nose Kate’s a month later, on Sunday, Feb. 20, the night before Presidents Day.

We’re starting to book parties, fundraisers and weddings for the spring and summer. Spread the word, and give us a holler if you want your party to be a funky good time.

Can I get a witness?

Love,
The Bandulos
Billy, Mike, Nicole, Rafael, Paul and John

PS: Have you been keeping up with our former guitarist and good friend Joe Crispiano’s exploits as a Dap-King (as in, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings)? Suffice it to say that over the past year Joe’s gotten some face time on every major late night talk show, toured across the US, Europe and Australia, and just the other day, the band opened for Prince at Madison Square Garden! We’re so proud :)

Testimonials

John & Emily

Emily and I wanted to thank you for making our party so outstanding. Our guests of all ages had an amazing time at the party. Emily and I both enjoyed the party as much as our guests. We received numerous compliments on how great you guys played. The jazz at the cocktail hour was perfect and I’ve never a been to a party with as large a percentage of the guests dancing or staying on the dance floor until the end of the night. We appreciate that you learned Hava Nagila and I’ve Got a Gal in Kalamazoo, both of which were very special dances for us. It would be our pleasure to be references in the future. Also, the banquet captain told me how great he thought you were. Thank you for all of your hard work. We hope to catch some of your gigs in the future.

That’s right! You’re favorite ’80s band (featuring Billy and John of the Bandulos, along with Ann Marie of the Bad Mouth Betties) will be celebrating the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605 at KJ’s Ale House in Great Kills. Half-price at the door if you bring your own effigy!
