[Author's note: This is a follow up to Nicole's post, "Why I do what I do"]

So Rolling Stone has another one of their “best ever” lists, and this time it’s filled with crooners, divas, warblers, songbirds, soul shouters, and screamers. That’s right! It’s the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time issue.

“This summer, Rolling Stone asked artists — including Bruce Springsteen, Jim James of My Morning Jacket, Alicia Keys and many others — along with journalists and industry insiders to name their favorite singers of the rock era.”

Aretha, Ray Charles, Elvis, Sam Cooke and Lennon took the top five spots.

No surprises, really. But more interesting than the list are the 25 ballots posted on their site — ballots filled out by Keith Richards, Courtney Love, Iggy Pop, and more.

Keith Richards has legible handwriting? Who knew? Plus, he voted for two reggae singers.
